Pastoral Care is the heart of our Christian community and we are privileged to roll that out to our entire community throughout Uplawmoor.
“Love each other as I have loved you” – John 15: 12-13
The Pastoral Care Coordinator role is to receive requests for Pastoral Care through our many ways of communication i.e email; online form; phone; the request box in the rear vestibule of the church and not least by word of mouth. It is better by far that everyone alerts us to a need rather than assuming that someone else will and it gets missed! The minister and/or the relevant elder is then notified as appropriate to respond that need.
One of the needs already identified is the offer of transport to and from village activities. If this is something you may benefit from (or know of someone who would), please let us know. Also, if you could offer transport from time to time, please let us know.
Personal visits either to hospitals or at home are being very much appreciated by recipients. Please notify us of anyone who would benefit from a visit, or if you are visiting – this helps us ensure that no-one is being omitted. When visiting we like to leave a card to remind that person that they are in their thoughts and prayers.
The purpose of pastoral care it to help us to care effectively so that as many as possible feel and know the love of god – especially at life’s most difficult times.
